How to remove mold from your roof.

Roofs provide covering for our houses and this makes them important in every building. They are however exposed to molds, algae and moss. These are capable of damaging the roof over time if not dealt with quickly. Therefore, it is advised that if you notice a trace of mold on your roof, you should make moves to remove it immediately. You need not look for an expert to help you remove the mold as you can do it yourself with some simple tools. You will need the following; hose, rubber gloves, bucket, water, handheld pump sprayer, breathing mask and trisodium phosphate (TSP) bleach. Having known this, let us take a look at the steps that can be taken to correct this anomaly.

Firstly, it is advised to spray all the plants surrounding your home with water before embarking on cleaning the roof. This will protect them from chemical sprays that could splash off the roof during your cleaning.

Secondly, put on the gloves and breathing mask to protect you from the fumes produced by both the bleach and TSP. Pour the chlorine bleach in water and also add one tablespoon of TSP and mix well. This forms the perfect chemical solution for the job. Fill up your handheld sprayer with the solution.

Thirdly, spray the solution on the mold affected parts and allow the solution to soak into the roof for about 15 minutes. Then rinse off thoroughly with clean water using your hose till it is completely free.
